Hi, I’m Rachel McCoy. I’m a Chattanooga native, color educator, and a Board Certified Colorist, a nationally recognized distinction representing the highest level of professional mastery in haircolor, with over two decades of experience in high-end hair design.

In 2013, Jared and I opened The Strand Salon with the mission of creating a sustainable and planet friendly space that supports our stylists and community. I am driven by technical education as both an educator and a student. This dedication allows me to provide the most advanced and health conscious options for my clients.

I specialize in lived-in and dimensional color, utilizing the artistry of hand painting to create a natural, seamless grow out. My goal is for your haircolor to align with your lifestyle and maintenance needs. I also offer custom cuts that enhance your facial features and flatter your face shape as well as scalp wellness services, prioritizing the long term health and integrity of your hair from the root to the ends.

When away from work, Jared and I stay busy raising our two wonderful kids and spending time with our two rescue dogs. We love to travel, try new foods, and spend time with our family and friends here in Chattanooga.
