Hey what’s up, I’m Jared McCoy. My wife, Rachel, and I opened The Strand Salon in downtown Chattanooga in 2013, and I love being part of a place where people walk out feeling better than when they came in. I’m interested in the science of hair and have always wanted to understand how things work, especially when it comes to the products we use.

Most of my work revolves around dry cutting to create natural movement and shape, especially when removing weight while maintaining length for those with thick or coarse hair. I also utilize keratin treatments to smooth and control frizz and perms to add structural texture.

When I’m not in the salon, I love playing and watching sports, experimenting in the kitchen, camping under the stars, or skiing the slopes. Most of all, Rachel and I stay busy raising our young kids.

My goal is for your hair to bring out your confidence. And I’m always ready to chat about anything on your mind—life, work, hobbies, your fantasy football team, your current favorite TV show, or a good bourbon.
